The Hostile Terrain 94 Project at Connecticut College

Connecticut College will be hosting the Hostile Terrain 94 Exhibition this upcoming fall. It is a pop-up exhibit created by the Undocumented Migration Project. The exhibit consists of ~4,000 toe tags, each belonging to an individual who has died trying to cross the Sonora Desert in Arizona. The toe tags will be pinned to a map showing the exact location where the individual was found.

This will be a multiple semester project, with installation and exhibition yet to be determined. Our emphasis is currently on programming, including speakers and Witnessing events, to be held throughout fall 2020 and spring 2021. Check back here for updates and see the calendar below for upcoming events!
